April Events Calendar

For the month of April, we have a variety of classes that includes a little bit of everything! Why not try something new?

Knitting 101

Learn the basics of knitting and finish your very own dishcloth. This class will teach the knit-stitch. All materials are provided.

This is a two-session class: April 1st & 8th

Instructor: Laura G. | 6:00 - 8:30pm | Cost: $20

Course 3: Gumpaste & Fondant

(4 Classes total)

Mindy will lead you every step of the way as you create amazing hand shaped flowers, beautiful borders and bold accents using these easy-to-shape icings. As you learn these techniques such as – an artful bow, mum, rose, carnation, calla lily, rosebud,

daisy, and embellished borders and more, you’ll gain confidence as you decorate with gum paste and fondant. This will enable you to create cakes that will add excitement to your family celebrations for years to come.

Class will be held: April 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th from 6:00 - 8:00pm

Beading 101

Learn the basics of jewelry making, including how to use some of the beading tools. Complete this Shades of Green necklace & earring set while you learn. We provide the materials.

Card Chaos

We have two Card Chaos classes available to take on April 21.
The first class will be held 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM on April 21 and in the evening class from 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM on April 21.

Seven full hours of scrapbooking fun! Snacks will be provided. Those who would like to continue scrapping after 4:30 are invited to use the classroom until 7:30pm. Great door prizes & giveaways all day! A Cricut will be available to use.

Cabin Workshop

Here at Crafts Direct we would love to assist you in selecting your next quilt projects, with fabrics, patterns, etc. We want to also be the quilt shop that helps you to attain the methods and techniques that we have found that will enable you to create some very wonderful pieces. That is why we are offering this free class the first two Thursdays each month.

Mindy will teach you to create breathtaking icing flowers such as pansies, lilies and the famous Wilton Rose. Throughout the four 2-hour sessions you will learn the basic principals of cake design, how to make royal icing, parchment bags, flower stems, gum paste and fondant will also be covered. This is an advanced class - you must have taken Course 1, or have prior cake decorating experience to take this class.

This is a four session class & will be held: January 12th, 19th, 26th & February 2nd.

Did you ever wonder how to make these fun ruffle scarfs? If so, you are not alone. Requested by many we have added this ruffle scarf class. Project Ideas: Cascade 220 Yarn Projects.

Today I have some great new project ideas to share with you! All three of these projects were created using patterns from the 60 Quick Knits book (pictured below) - which you can find here at Crafts Direct and it retails for $17.95.

For the samples we used the Cascade 220 Super Wash Yarn and love both the way looks and feels on the completed pieces. You can find a variety of colors of the Super Wash Yarn (and also peak at the completed samples) in aisle 28 of our Fabrics Department.

Project Ideas: Noodle Yarn Projects.

A new product to our Fabrics department is the very popular Noodle Yarn! We have a wide variety of colors and color combinations to pick from and also have lots of great project ideas and inspiration to share with you too!

You can find the projects as well as the Noodle Yarn on a front endcap in our Fabrics department. We also have the supply lists and project instructions for the projects we have created on our website - and you can find links to each of them by clicking on the project names below.
