 Knitting 101

 
Learn the basics of knitting and finish your very own dishcloth. This class will teach the knit-stitch. All materials are provided.



This is a two-session class: April 1st & 8th

Instructor: Laura G. | 6:00 - 8:30pm | Cost: $20

Course 3: Gumpaste & Fondant

(4 Classes total)

Mindy will lead you every step of the way as you create amazing hand shaped flowers, beautiful borders and bold accents using these easy-to-shape icings. As you learn these techniques such as – an artful bow, mum, rose, carnation, calla lily, rosebud, 

daisy, and embellished borders and more, you’ll gain confidence as you decorate with gum paste and fondant. This will enable you to create cakes that will add excitement to your family celebrations for years to come.

Class will be held: April 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th from 6:00 - 8:00pm

Tutoring on Thursdays (for Quilters)

Here at Crafts Direct we would love to assist you in selecting your next quilt projects, with fabrics, patterns, etc. We want to also be the quilt shop that helps you to attain the methods and techniques that we have found that will enable you to create some very wonderful pieces. That is why we are offering this free class the first two Thursdays each month.

  Anyone from beginner to expert is welcome. Bring your current quilting project and join us in the classroom! Karen P. our quilting instructor will be available to answer any questions or help you out if needed.

Beading 101

Learn the basics of jewelry making, including how to use some of the beading tools. Complete this Shades of Green necklace & earring set while you learn. We provide the materials.

Card Chaos

We have two Card Chaos classes available to take on April 21.
The first class will be held 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM on April 21 and in the evening class from 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM on April 21. 

**The samples below are from the March Card Chaos Class, we are just showing these as an example of the style of cards in which you will be creating in the April Class. These are not the cards you will create. ** 

Beading 201

6:00 PM - 8:30 PM  Apr 23, 2015 Take your beading to the next level! In this class you’ll complete this Alcohol Inked Woodsy Necklace while you learn  - we provide the materials.

 Friday Night Scrap

5:00 PM - 11:00 PM  Apr 24, 2015 

Six full hours of scrapbooking fun!  Snacks will be provided, along with great prizes. A Cricut will be available to use. 
 
Cost: $10

 All Day Scrap
9:30 AM - 4:30 PM  Apr 25, 2015 

Seven full hours of scrapbooking fun!  Snacks will be provided. Those who would like to continue scrapping after 4:30 are invited to use the classroom until 7:30pm. Great door prizes & giveaways all day! A Cricut will be available to use.

Cabin Workshop

6:00 PM - 8:30 PM  Apr 28, 2015

Join us on April 28th for this Cabin Workshop. In this class you will decorate these adorable Cabin wood letters. All supplies are included.

Upcoming Classes: Our April Class Calendar.

Hello April! 

We have some fun and exciting classes scheduled here at Crafts Direct this month! And right now we have at least one spot open in all of the classes we have on the calendar....although I know a few of the classes are certain to fill up and they will probably go fast!

Advanced Copic Class: Take your Copic coloring to the next level with a focus on light and shadow. Learn how to use a basic light guide and practice coloring images with light coming from different directions. You should have an understanding of basic techniques using Copic markers and should have taken the Copic Basics class or an equivalent previously. You will complete two cards in this class. 

 

Beading 101: Learn the basics of jewelry making, including how to use some of the beading tools. Complete these two beautiful bracelets while you learn. We provide the materials. 

Beading 201: Take your beading to the next level! In this class you’ll complete this Stars, Stripes & Braids Necklace while you learn  - we provide the materials.

Cake Decorating: Mindy will teach you to create breathtaking icing flowers such as pansies, lilies and the famous Wilton Rose. Throughout the four 2-1/2 hour sessions you will learn the basic principals of cake design, how to make royal icing, parchment bags, flower stems, gum paste and fondant will also be covered. This is an advanced class - you must have taken Course 1, or have prior cake decorating experience to take this class.
This is a four session class & will be held: April 28th, May 5th, 12th & 19th.

Knitting 101: Learn the basics of knitting and finish your very own dishcloth. This class will teach the knit-stitch. All materials are provided.
This is a two-session class: April 9th & 16th

Project Life Workshop: Bring your Project Life album & supplies and join Nicole in the classroom for a couple of hours of uninterrupted scrapbooking.  Nicole will be available to answer questions, show you the latest products and help those who aren’t exactly sure how to get started. This is a free workshop and registration is not required.

Quilt Tutoring: Here at Crafts Direct we would love to assist you in selecting your next quilt projects, with fabrics, patterns, etc. We want to also be the quilt shop that helps you to attain the methods and techniques that we have found that will enable you to create some very wonderful pieces. That is why we are offering this free class the first two Thursdays each month.

Quilt Venture: Make a fun quilting project during this class. Lunch will be provided from our Coffee Shop. The class will be limited to 10 people, so sign up soon! The pattern is included, but other supplies are not – a supply list is available at Customer Service.

 

Upcoming Classes: Basic Cake Decorating Class.

Coming up in the month of March we will be offering our four session Wilton Basic Cake Decorating Class!

On Monday evenings from 6-8:30pm through the month of March we will be offering the four Course 1 decorating classes. In this class Mindy will walk you through the steps of how to bake and decorate your first cake. More information about this Course can be found on our class calendar HERE.

New in Floral.

We have some exciting new items to share from our Floral department today!

First, we have new glass marbles that just arrived. We had been waiting for (and having a lot of requests for) this plum color that is now in stock! You can find them in aisle 4 of the Floral department.

Our baking aisle also has some fun new items -
including a fondant and gumpaste decorating kit. This kit comes with all of the basic supplies you will need for fondant or gumpaste plus it keeps everything nicely organized.

Wilton also has this new line called Shape-N-Amaze, which is an edibile shaping dough. We have the dough availalbe in a varieity of colors and also some shape molds and texture mats.

Finally, from Wilton as well we now have these mini baking pans - which are available as a spring form or angel food cake pan. You can find all of the new baking and cake supplies in aisle 2.

Upcoming Classes.

Looking ahead at the week we have some great classes on the schedule and luckily a few of them even have some open spots for you to join us!

Tomorrow (Tuesday May 7th) we have a couple of spots open in our Coloring with Copics class. If you've taken our Basic Copic class or have experience with the Copic markers this class if for you! Join Heather to learn a few of the more advanced techniques in this class.

On Wednesday (5/8) the first session of our Wilton: Course 3 (Gumpaste & Fondant) cake decorating class will be held. Join us for this four session class and learn the techniques of using these icing types to create a stunning cake.

Finally, we do also have some spaces open in our Crop scheduled for Friday night (May10th). Join us for an evening of creative time, dinner is provided as are snacks, a goodie bag, and the chance to win some fun prizes!

January Cake Decorating Class.

This month we will be offering a four session Wilton Basic Cake Decorating Class!

On Monday evenings from 6-8:30pm through the month of January we will be offering the four Course 1 decorating classes (Basic Cake Decorating). In this class Marcia will walk you through the steps of how to back and decorate your first cake. More information about this Course can be found HERE.

Fall Baking.

Even though the weather is far from feeling like fall today, this time of year always has me thinking of cool, crisp, fall days. And with those days always comes my desire to do some fall baking!

From cupcakes to pies and cookies to candy, our baking endcap at the back of aisle 2 has everything you need to prepare for any holiday baking/treat making you wish. Right now we primarily have Halloween decorating and baking items with some general Fall and Thanksgiving items as well.  (Although of course you can always find plenty of general baking items in aisle 2 all year round too!)

There are so many fun products and baking ideas for you to pick from! Here is a peek at what you can find:

Upcoming Classes.

We still have spots available in a few of the classes we have scheduled for this week!

First, this evening we have our Knitting 101 class scheduled from 6-8:30. In this class you will learn the basics of knitting and finish your own dishcloth. All materials are provided and the cost of the class is only $15.

Tomorrow (June 5th) we have our Basic Copic Class scheduled from 6-8pm. If you want to learn more about using Copic Markers this is the class for you! Join Heather in learning the basics and create the three cards below to practice the skills you learn.

Finally, on Wednesday our four session Tall Cake Class begins. This class will meet every Wednesday from 6-8:30 through the month of June to learn how to assemble and decorate a tiered cake. Take your cake decorating to the next level with Marcia at this class!
