Project Ideas: Coaster Sets.

Today I wanted to share a few of the new project ideas we have come up with using our two types of coaster sets. One set comes as unfinished wood - with four coasters and a enclosed box with a latch. The second type comes finished in black (the holder) and white (the coasters) with an open holding box.

With both the possibilities and ideas are endless - as our designer Megan showed us with the samples she created using them below!

You can find project supply lists and instructions by clicking each of the project titles below.

25 Days of Christmas: Day 23

Day 23: Coaster Sets

Coaster sets are always a fun gift to get...but remember the projects you can create with our coaster sets don't have to be limited to just coasters (or just square coasters at that). Today I have a couple of fun project ideas using our wood and white finished coasters. You can find supply lists and project instructions for each of the projects by clicking on the project names below.

Project Ideas: Coaster Sets.

Creating coasters is always a fun - and useful - project. They also make a great gift idea! Our designer Megan created these two coaster sets recently using the sets we have here at Crafts Direct. The set comes with the open box and four white finished coasters - how you embellish and alter them is open to so many options.

You can find project instructions for the sets below by clicking on the project names, or you can find additional coaster ideas on our website HERE.

Project Ideas: Ink Blotting

If you are a fan of alcohol ink you are going to love the projects I have to share with you today!

I know it is easy to be intimated by alcohol inks (I was totally scared of them myself) but once you see how easy they are I promise you are going to be looking for things to ink next.  For these particular projects the process is even easier because we didn't even blend the inks - we just added the colors that we chose to the pieces and let the ink combine and then dry in the way it was added.

You can find specific project supplies and instructions by clicking on the project title below. You can also find a video showing how we completed a alcohol ink project (with blending) by clicking HERE.

Project Ideas: Coaster Sets.

Today I have a couple project ideas to share with you using one of our regular coaster sets - but using a few fun new techniques to embellish and decorate them!

If you have a smart phone you are probably familiar with the Instagram App. Instagram is a fun way to take, edit and share photos with friends, but you don't want to just let all your great photos live on your phone.  You should also print them out and use them on pieces around your house to enjoy as well. For this particular project we used the Walgreen's App to send our photos from our Instagram account directly to our local Walgreen's store - where they will print out your photos to the 4x4" size.

Since the photos are already edited and sized perfectly to fit the coaster set - creating this project was then so much easier! You can find the complete instructions for the Instagram Coaster Set here.

Another product that is very popular right now is Washi Tape. It is versatile, easy to use, and the best part is that it comes in a huge selection of colors and styles. For this sample Megan simply taped the Washi Tape directly to the coaster (using a Washi Tape pack from My Mind's Eye that comes with all the styles of Washi Tape you see below) and then sealed the tape to the coasters. You can find a project sheet for these Washi Tape Coasters here.

Project Idea: Coaster Set.

For today's project share I want to show you three coaster sets Megan recently created as project samples!

They are each so different- yet follow the same basic process. These are always a fun, creative project to complete and would also make a great handmade gift! You can find links to project sheets for each of the samples below as well.
