National Scrapbooking Day!

As you may know Saturday is National Scrapbooking Day!! 

To celebrate we will be offering two FREE Make and Take projects on Saturday here at Crafts Direct and we would love to have you join us as!

Both Make and Take projects will be offered at our Paper Crafts Demo counter. You can join Megan from 10am-12pm to make one of these Decorative Spool Layouts using paper and stickers from the Pebbles Walnut Grove line, paper straws and wooden spools. Use them as a decorative piece as you see them here - or adjust the stickers slightly and add a photo to the layout for the display.

Megan will also be hosting the Make and Take from 1-3pm where you can stop by and make a Photo Mini Book using one of these three Echo Park lines. You can choose between the boy, girl, or For the Record line and leave with a book ready to be filled up with photos!

Halloween Mini Album Class!

We are so excited to let you know about a class that we will be offering this coming Monday (September 17th) from 1-2:30pm!!

Darcy from Pebbles, Inc. will be here to teach a class and help you create this adorable Happy Halloween Mini Accordion Album, using the latest Halloween line from Pebbles. The class is only $5 - but space is limited so call to reserve your spot today!!

Day 6: 25 Days of Merry Recipe Box

If you want a fun way to document the month of December, today I have the perfect project for you! Using a few sheets of pattern paper, a wood recipe box, a vinyl title, and some fun embellishments I created this cute album project. 

Each day of December has its own 4x6" card in the box, where you can add some journaling about the day and/or a photo. So at the end of the month you will end up with a box full of photos documenting all of your holiday events and activities. This would also be a great gift to make for someone too!

25 Days of Christmas 2011: Day 2

Day 2: 2012 Calendars

Today I wanted to share a couple ideas to get you ready for 2012. I realize that we are just at the start of December, but I wanted to share them because in addition to being great to make for yourself - I also think these would be a wonderful handmade gift idea!

For both samples I used the SRM Mini Calendar Stickers. For the Calendar Board we actually used a wood clock kit, added some paint and some patterned paper and turned it into a year at a glance calendar board. Of course you could create this same project with any theme or style of pattern paper you would like. A project sheet for the calendar board can be found HERE.

The second idea is to use the Mini Calendar Stickers to create a flip calendar/minibook. For this project I used one of the Calendar Stickers on each page and added a photo for the month as well.  And by using a thicker cardboard cover it easily stands up all on its own. Obviously you could create this same idea with more photos, larger photos, or different themed paper too. A project sheet for the Calendar Mini can be found HERE.

Dog Days of Summer: Hello Sunshine Minibook

For our final Dog Days of Summer project I wanted to share with you this fun summer themed minibook created using the Echo Park Country Drive line. I know you all have plenty of summer photos either on your camera or computer or even possibly printed out...so why not create this cute little book for them.

I created the album by just trimming down a few pieces of pattern paper to 6x6" squares, doubling them up for a little extra thickness and binding them together using the Bind-It-All. The only other supplies I used were a sheet of Elements Stickers that go along with the Echo Park County Drive line, a few pieces of ribbon and a couple of rhinestones. Really simple and fun to create and something really cute to leave out for family and friends to take a peek at your summer adventures.

This is the project for Mini Book Club that will be held on Wed., October 13th. Isn't it the most boo-tiful mini book you've seen? I think this is the cutest mini book Nicole has designed so far. May's Class Calendar

May is just a day away and I wanted to remind you that can view our class calendar here. We have a pretty full month of classes that we are offering, so sign up for one while you can. During the summer months of June, July and August we will be cutting back on the number of classes that we offer, as they don't seem to fill. In September we will be back in full force.

Free Make & Take for NCM

March is National Craft Month (NCM) and to celebrate we are offering a free make & take today from 1pm to 3pm. Create this Little Recipe book using the NEW American Crafts Abode Line and a 4x6 album. 14 Days of Love 2010: Day 5

Day 5: "Be Mine" Mini Book - Make this mini book for that special someone in your life. We sell the supplies to make this mini book, or you can take the class. We are offering it as a class this coming Monday, Feb. 8th starting at 6pm, class fee $25. You can stop in or call to register, we hope you can join us.

April's Mini Book Club!

Isn't this mini book adorable? Nicole our Mini Book Club instructor is so talented and comes up with the greatest mini books. This is April's Mini Book Club Project. She used the KaiserCraft Fancy Flower Album and embellished it with Making Memories Garden Party line. I just love how springy and bright it is, which is something I think we all need considering the weather outside. We hope to see you in class.

Mini Book Club This Thursday!

There is still time to sign up for Mini Book Club this Thursday. This cute little Easter Mini Book is this months project. It is 5x7 in size and is embellished using Doodlebug paper and stickers. The mini book itself is constructed from Zutter products, such as the white insert pages, chipboard covers, binding and is bound together using the new pink Bind it All. Call or stop in to register for this class. We hope to see you there.

14 Days of Love: Day 10

Day 10: "LOVE" Mini Book - Well, Valentine's Day is just 4 short days away. Have you gotten your sweetheart a gift yet? Why not make him/her a gift that comes from the heart. You can make this album in one evening just by taking the Mini Book Club class, this Thursday. This is a perfect little gift that would make your sweetheart fall in love with you all over again.

Mini Book Club: LOVE

Here is sample for Mini Book Club for February's class. It is so adorable, I just LOVE it! I will probably be taking the class myself. The album is created with Clear Scraps chipboard letters, and uses the new line of My Mind's Eye Paper: Irresistible. The two together are a darling combination. Mini Book Club: Merry

Need to get into the Christmas Spirit? Why not take this mini book club class. In this class you can create this Adorable mini book, that you could keep for yourself or give as a gift.
