Project Ideas: Inlay Frames

Today I have a few project ideas to share with you using our Wood Inlay Frame. These projects are all quick and easy and would make a great addition to your fall decor! Give Thanks Inlay Frame - we created this frame by covering the piece with pattern paper and then adding a Vinyl saying to an additional piece of pattern paper and adhering it to the center. The few flower embellishments give it an extra pop!

Thankful Inlay Frame - for this piece we simply painted the wood frame with chalkboard paint and added a ribbon to the top for hanging. We added the word "Thankful" to the piece with chalk - but the great thing about this project is that you can easy change up the work/theme for the next season or holiday.

Fall Inlay Frame - for this piece we alcohol inked four ceramic tiles, added the vinyl letters to spell out FALL and then glued them into the painted wood frame. A little embellishment on the side and this project is complete.

Project Ideas: 12x12 Wood Painting Panels.

Over the next few weeks I'm excited to share with you some new project ideas our team has recently created. Even more exciting is that all of these projects will be using pieces that are currently ON SALE as part of our Anniversary Sale Ad!

Currently our 12x12 Wood Painting Panels (basically a wood canvas) are on sale for $4.98 each. They are great pieces that can easily be altered just as you would a stretched canvas. We have a couple of project ideas to share with you today - one using the 'outside' side of the wood panel and another using the 'inside' side - which is just another way this piece is versatile.

Project & Layout Ideas: Simple Stories.

Over the past couple of weeks we have been working on putting together layout ideas and project samples using all of the new paper lines we have recently received in our Paper Crafts department.

Today I wanted to share some of the new projects we have created using lines from the company Simple Stories. We do have additional layouts and projects that we are posting this week - which you can find on our Pinterest board and Facebook page.

First, using the Simple Stories Smarty Pants line Melissa created these layouts and card:

 

She also made this great little Learn Live Grow sign using pieces from the paper line and a 5x5 Tile. You can find project instructions for this piece HERE.

Another new line from Simple Stories is the Say Cheese line. With this line Melissa created some layout ideas (which she also used divided page protectors on), a card, as well as a few decor pieces.

The photo openings in these frames are 4x6 so you can use standard prints and then just embellish and decorate the frame to fit the photo (or vice versa :) - we have used a variety of items to alter the frames in the samples below - including pattern paper, wood pieces, flowers, feathers, and sticker embellishments.

Good morning everyone! For today's projects I wanted to share a few projects we have created using our Clothespin Shadow Boxes. They come as you see below - unfinished, glass front, and they already have the string and clothespins included with the piece. All it takes then is a little paint, or pattern paper, and a few embellishments and you can created your own display piece for any theme you wish. A newer product to Crafts Direct is this Wood Pallet Plaque. It comes unfinished and already has a wire attached for hanging. It is a great piece to alter as you can create many different looks with it and the general design of the separate wood planks gives it a unique look as well. Project Ideas: Wood Suitcase

Happy Monday Everyone! 

I have so much to share this week! Today I am going to share some project ideas with you - but be sure to check back later this week because I also have lots of new products to share with you from our Paints & Basics department AND we will be doing a BLOG GIVEAWAY this week as we celebrate our 1000th post too!!

First up though are these amazing samples Megan created for us using the Wood Suitcases we have available here at Crafts Direct.

I love how she created pieces that are so different from each other, yet both such great uses of the piece. First she created this "Cards Suitcase" - which would be perfect for a bridal shower or wedding - or of course with a little different styling you could create the same type of piece for a birthday party, baby shower, or graduation party. For the second project we used the wood suitcase to create a little Game Box. With just some paint and vinyl and you have all the pieces for a game of tic-tac-toe, dice, cards, checkers, etc. Plus you could use the suitcase to store additional games/game pieces also!
