Quilt Block of the Month

Oh My Goodness!!!! This month has been amazing. Who knew that your response to our Easy program for the Quilt Block of the month would be so huge. We have had to "rush" order more fabric for this months blocks...TWICE.... Don't forget that if you didn't get in during the month of January it's not to late to start. We will ( hopefully next week) have more of the January blocks cut and hanging on the end cap with the new block for February. We also have extended the Incredible price cut on the Gypsy Sit Upon for the Month of Feb. It is normally $39.99 and we will have it on special for $19.97 all month. The product that we are featuring this month with the program is the 101 Basting Spray by Helmar.It normally $10.99 for 5.82 oz. and we will be running it at $5.00 a can while supplies last. Remember this price doesn't start until February 1st. We can't wait to start hearing from all of you on how you feel about this program...What you like...What we can "tweak" and if we should do a program like this again. 25 Days of Christmas 2010: Day 9

Day 9: Snowman Knitted Hat - For the knitters out there, this would be a great little gift for the children on your list. This is just adorable and my daughter would just love it. She loves all snowmen and calls them all "Frosty". Anyway, you can find the hat pattern here. Happy knitting!

Quilt Block of the Month Program

I am so excited to finally blogging about this. We are going to be running our first, of many we hope, Quilt Block of the Month Programs. It is called Starry Night, Sea of Tranquility by Swirly Girl Designs. The fabrics used are Michael Miller Krystals. Jeanne put the quilt top together and it is GORGEOUS! We have hung the quilt in the Quilt Shop, so stop in and see it for yourself.

Our program is going to be run rather uniquely. We will NOT be taking up any of your precious time by making you come in to sit and listen to a sales presentation monthly. Our program will be set up on an End-Cap in the Quilt Shop. Starting January 1st, block one will available to purchase for $9.99 white tag or $ 6.97 yellow tag. Then in February you can come in with your completed block from January, you will then be able to pick up February's block for only $3.97. Continue this process until you have all 12 blocks completed.

Something else I think is pretty important for us to mention is with the extra fabric left over from your monthly blocks you are able to use it to create the pinwheels for the quilt. You will need more of the Michael Miller Jet Black Fabric for the backgrounds. O.K. enough of the detail stuff. All I have left to say is Whoo Hoo!!!

Everyone loves cupcakes!

Jan just finished making this apron from the "Cupcake Cutie" pattern - and it's adorable!
So adorable, in fact, that she decided that she had to make another one for herself. This darling one size fits all apron is flattering as well as fun and easy to make. Two different neck strap options are given in the pattern. Apron measures approx. 30"L x 26"w.

25 Days of Christmas: Day 24

Day 24: Decorative Tea Towel and Apron - The Fabric Dept did a great job with coming up with projects to accent their theme room, Country Charm. They went above an beyond decorating their room. The apron pictured is made from a tea towel, ribbon and felt mitten die cut from the Accu-Cut Machine. The towel was made the same way. It is an an adorable set and would make a great gift for the baker on your list. 25 Days of Christmas: Day 18

Day 18: Tea Towel Oven Mitt & Potholders - How much fun would it be receive either one of these as a
gift. They were made using tea towels and some printed fabric. Just click on the photos to download the instructions. If you are making them for a gift it would be fun to attach this little saying to them:
" Extending a warm hand of friendship to you and yours as you celebrate the holidays."

Crocheted Bath Mitts for Kids!

It just amazes me how many talented people work here, Gerri who actually works in the Floral Dept. made these samples for us. She did such a wonderful job and aren't they adorable? The patterns are in the Annie's Attic book "Fun Time Bath Mitts", stop in and pick up a copy today for a quick and easy project.

25 Days of Christmas: Day 19

Day 19: Fleece Boa - This fleece boa is sure to keep you warm this winter. This pattern uses a little amount of fleece and calls for a sewing machine but is still an easy project. You could use scraps of fleece you may have or check out our Closeout Store, here at Crafts Direct, they may have remnants of fleece. I just bought some there the other day that measured 36x60 the print was a little more then the solid but it was additional 30% off and I could make 3 scarfs out of the two remnants I purchased. That makes for an affordable homemade gift.

25 Days of Christmas: Day 12

Day 12: Embroidered Dishtowels - Embroidery just isn't for your Grandma anymore. Sublime offers transfers that are far from traditional. In the samples shown we used the Sublime Winter Land transfer packet. We picked a few of the designs and embroidered them onto colored dishtowels, sure to add a punch of color to any kitchen.
