Vinyl Project of the Month: My Mom 12x12 Frame.

Our Vinyl Project of the Month for April is a now available in store. This month you can pick up the supplies to create this "My Mom" 12x12 Frame. The project only requires three supplies and is very easy for anyone to create - and the results are awesome (and would make a perfect Mother's Day gift!).

Each month throughout 2014 we will be creating (and sharing) a "Vinyl Project of the Month". The project will be on display - with all of the coordinating products to create it yourself - by our Vinyl Room in the Seasonal Department. You will also be able to pick up (or find online) a project sheet with detailed instructions on how to creative the project as well.

I know we are already seeing (and working on) lots of Christmas themed projects - but we still do have some time left in the "Fall" season and have the Thanksgiving holiday coming up yet too. Today I wanted to share some of the project ideas we created using our 12x12 MDF Frames that are definitely more fall themed with a few "everyday" type projects in there too! 

Not only would they be great projects to add to your home for this time of year, but they could also be great pieces to create if you are starting to look your gift list too.

Today I have a project to share that we created using our unfinished 12x12" MDF Frame (with 4x4" opening). Currently the frame is on sale for only $4.98! And with just a little paint, pattern paper and a photo you too can put together a sample like the one Kristine created below. Project Ideas: 12x12 Frames

Today I wanted to share a few project ideas with you that we created using our 12x12 frames.

Since the frames are 12x12 (and a perfect size to use with the various options of scrapbooking pattern paper we have available) they are very easy to alter to match any photos/decor. I also love that the photo opening on the frame is 4x4, which allows you to use a 4x6 standard sized photo and just trim it down slightly.

For the first frame we painted the piece and then used components from the Pebbles Family Ties line to decorate the frame with pattern paper and some chipboard shapes. We also added the "Together..." vinyl saying to the bottom of the frame.

For the second frame we used the same basic idea - but this time we trimmed and adhered the paper using a vertical orientation to give the design a different look. The addition of the layered group of chipboard embellishments is a simple and easy touch to dress up the frame just a little bit more.

25 Days of Christmas 2012 - Day 11

Day 11: 12x12 Frames 

If you have any favorite Christmas, holiday or winter photos you know that half of the fun of having those photos is the fun and creative ways that you can display them! Today I have a few project ideas on how to alter and embellish our 12x12 frames that would be perfect for this purpose. All of the frames come unfinished - but with a little paint, paper, vinyl and ribbon you can create quite the custom frame. Plus the photo opening size is 4x4" so most of your standard size printed photos will work with this piece.

For this first frame, we started by painting it red - then covered it with a few pieces of coordinating pattern paper, added the Jingle Bell vinyl and embellished with some ribbon and little bells.

For the second frame, we also started with paint and some pattern paper, but then we simply added some chipboard embellishments to the the corner of the photo opening.

For the last frame, we created a general winter themed frame by using a snowflake pattern paper and embellishing with metal snowflakes and blue rhinestones. The title at the bottom was created by just layering a couple pieces of pattern paper and adding a sticker using pop-dots for some added dimension.
