Fashionable Flour Sack Towels

So we have all either grown up with our mothers hand embroidered, days of the week flour sack towels or possibly received some of our own. The fun patterns and days of the week are still a favorite of mine but I think they could use a bit of an update. I have never embroidered until now so if you haven't either no worries! It is not only inexpensive but also easy to put your own creativity and personal style into. All you have to learn is a few basic stitches and you are set to go with your iron-on patterns! Instead of using the basic white flour sack towels we now have them in fun bright colors to coordinate with your kitchen decor. Now you will need to pick out a pattern. Some fun alternatives to the days of the week are some of the more modern floral design kits like Savvy Stitches and beginners books with cheeky patterns like Sublime Stitching (this is the book I learned from, super cute!). If you are more adventurous you can try your own designs with tracing paper and funky sayings or designs.
Have fun gettin' crafty!
