Project Ideas: Ruffle Totes

Today I have a few new project ideas to share with you using the ruffle fabric. Even though it isn't feeling like summer or even spring yet outside - these totes will be perfect for summer trips to the library, park, or beach once it does arrive! Or just carry them around now and pretend that we are actually enjoying spring weather :)

New in Paints & Basics.

With all of the project sharing lately I haven't shared as much of the "what's new" from the various departments here on the blog. Today I wanted to share a few of the new items from our Paints & Basics department - and watch for other new items from other departments coming soon too!

Some of the fun new items in Paints & Basics include:

New duct tape styles: including licensed styles like Super Mario Bros &Angry Birds:

We also have a bunch of new kits for kids - that include some dress up items (capes, vests, etc.) and some project kits too:

For kids a bit older we also have these new Makedo kits - which are crafty kits that also encourage using recycled materials.

Finally, I shared these on our Facebook page a few weeks ago, but I really like these new plastic containers. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can easily be filled with treats, trinkets, etc. I also think they would be great as little gifts/favors for various events.

Using a couple of these pieces with sixlets and a few simple embellishments we created samples of a baby shower favor and a teacher gift idea.

Upcoming Class: Ruffle Scarf Class

Did you ever wonder how to make these fun ruffle scarfs? If so, you are not alone. Requested by many we have added this ruffle scarf class. Laura will walk you through the steps of casting on, knitting your very own ruffle scarf and casting off to finish it. This is a two session class. & will be held April 17th & 24th.

Project Ideas: Mason Jars

I know we've shared a lot of project ideas in the past using Mason Jars - but today I have a couple new ideas you are going to LOVE.

First up are these Mason Jar Tumblers we created by adding chalkboard vinyl to the front of the jars, pattern paper to the lids and punching holes (and adding grommets) for a perfect fit for a fun paper straw. You can find a project sheet for these jars HERE.

We also now have jars available with pumps (in white, black, and cream) which can be used for soap, lotion, or even ketchup or mustard for your next get together - (or summer bbq if summer ever arrives here in Minnesota :) For these jars we painted them to show you how they would look if filled but the best part is how much a little key tag and gingham ribbon add to the piece. I think these jars are awesome!

Project Ideas: Multi-Layered Frames

As part of our Spring Fever sale that is going on right now, we have these new multi-layered frames on sale for only $7.88! In addition to the sample shown in the ad we also have a few other project ideas displayed in the store using this frame - so I wanted to share them with you here as well.

The frame comes unfinished, but can easily be decorated with paint, pattern paper, and embellishments. And the multi-layered design of the frame gives it the perfect amount of dimension and a wonderful final look.

You can find the frames (and the supplies to make any of the samples shown) on a middle endcap in our Paints & Basics department.

REGISTRATION REMINDER: Craft, Stamp & Scrap Event.

A reminder that registration for the Craft, Stamp, and Scrap event opens this Sunday (April 7th) evening at 7pm (registration is online only).

The event is scheduled for the weekend of May 3rd-5th and is a perfect weekend retreat to work on all those projects you have yet to finish up - or to start something new for the spring and summer. We would love to have you join us at this very popular crafting event.
