DIY Wall Letters

You've seen them everywhere lately, in stores, in advertisements and even on commercials, those large oversized alphabet letters. The large letters are certainly a hot trend right now.  Here in our store, we carry many already finished Marquee, wooden, retro, distressed and metal alphabet letters in our Home Decor department, but have you thought of making your very own unique personalized letter?

Below are a few project samples our employees came up with to help inspire you all to experiment on your own of crafting a letter of your choice. Take note of the many different techniques and mediums used in these samples in which create a different look and texture effect for each one.

Concrete Paper Weight  Letter

Paper weight created with stepping stone mix!

Ikat Chevron Paper Mache Letter

The unique design is created with using a comb brush.

Ninja Turtle Paper Mache Letter

Draw out your designs and then paint within the lines.

Frozen Paper Mache Letter

Create this custom Frozen letter for a little girls bedroom. Don't forget to add the pretty sequins!

Baseball Paper Mache Letter

We can't forget about the boys now! This Baseball Letter really has some added personality with the ball & mitt wood shape.

Q Chunky Wood Letter

This letter is painted with Chalk Paint and Wood Tint and just sanded down.

V Chunky Wood Letter

By whittling the edges of this wood letter before the Chalk Paint is applied, then sanding all over, it gives it a nice distressed look.

X Chunky Wood Letter

The contrast of the bright color painted imperfectly over a darker wood tint, really makes this letter stand out.

Z Chunky Wood Letter

By adding grooves with a hammer and painting with a Patina effect, then distressed with a darker paint give this letter the aged look.
