Upcoming Classes, Make & Takes and Tastings: Our September Calendar

We have some fun and exciting classes and events scheduled here at Crafts Direct for the month of September!

Knitting 101  6:00pm - 8:30pm

Session 1 & Session 2

Learn the basics of knitting and finish your very own dishcloth. This class will teach the knit-stitch. All materials are provided.
This is a two-session class: September 3rd & 10th

Tutoring on Thursdays: For Quilters 6:00pm - 8:30pm
September 4 & September 11

Here at Crafts Direct we would love to assist you in selecting your next quilt projects, with fabrics, patterns, etc. We want to also be the quilt shop that helps you to attain the methods and techniques that we have found that will enable you to create some very wonderful pieces. 

Anyone from beginner to expert is welcome. Bring your current quilting project and join us in the classroom! Karen P. our quilting instructor will be available to answer any questions or help you out if needed.

Friday Night Scrap  5pm - 11pm, September 5th

You can enjoy six full hours of scrapbooking fun. Snacks will be provided along with great prizes. A Cricut will be available to use.  

All Day Scrap Saturday -  9:30am to 4:30pm, September 6th  

Seven full hours of Scrapping with snacks, prizes and a Cricut to use. Scrappers are also invited to use the classroom until 7:30pm on Saturday.  You can register for just one day or both if you wish. 

Something new here at Crafts Direct is the Wind & Willow Gourmet Foods product line. Starting on September 6th and every following Saturday in September from 12:00 - 2:00pm we will be sampling different Wind & Willow foods and dips from Pelican Bay.

Also on Saturday's this month from 1pm to 3pm we will have various Make and Takes at the demo counters around the store. 

Flower & Cake Design

This is a four session class & will be held: September 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th. 6 - 8pm

Session 1, Session 2, Session 3, Session 4

Mindy will teach you to create breathtaking icing flowers such as pansies, lilies and the famous Wilton Rose. Throughout the four 2-hour sessions you will learn the basic principals of cake design, how to make royal icing, parchment bags, flower stems, gum paste and fondant will also be covered.  

This is an advanced class - you must have taken Course 1, or have prior cake decorating experience to take this class.


Card Chaos
Class will be offered: September 9th @ 6pm | September 16th @ 2pm & 6pm 
Make 8 cards in 1 night. Move from station to station completing each card. We provide the materials.



Beading 101 
6-8pm, September 17
Learn the basics of jewelry making, including how to use some of the beading tools. Complete a Black & Teal necklace while you learn, we provide the materials. Each class requires a separate registration sign up.

Beading 201 
6-8pm, September 24
Learn the basics of jewelry making, including how to use some of the beading tools. Complete a  Bronze Asymmetrical Chain necklace while you learn, we provide the materials.

Quilt Venture 9:30am - 5:00pm September 20th

Look what you can do with 2 ½” strips of fabric! The colors just ‘ripple’ from the center out, creating a mesmerizing effect. Create a “Ripple Effect” quilt top in this class.

Lunch will be provided from our Coffee Shop. The class will be limited to 10 people, so sign up soon! A supply list is available at Customer Service.

Basic Copic Class  6:00 - 8:00pm September 23

Have you been down the marker aisle in paper crafts, saw the Copic markers, and wondered what they were all about? Copic markers will take your coloring to a whole new level! Come learn the basics of Copic markers, some blending techniques to get you started, and other tricks & techniques. You will create 3 cards that utilize what you learn in class.

Fall Geomesh Wreath Class 6:00 - 8:00pm September 25

A new class we are very excited about this month is the Fall Geomesh Wreath Class. You will make a fall wreath using a popular product called Geo Mesh. Susie will walk you through the steps of creating your very own wreath. All supplies are included.
