Since National Scrapbooking Day is approaching I thought we could send a couple of fun ideas your way. The card that we designed today was created specifically for a house warming party but you can use the design for any occasion!
Supplies:
• 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of kraft paper or brown cardstock
• paper trimmer and scoring blade
• moving stamp of your choice
• Brown inkpad
• 2 sheets of coordinating 8 1/2 x 11 paper
• Adhesive
• Bone folder (optional)
Directions:
1. Start by scoring your kraft paper or brown cardstock. We chose this color to resemble the color of a cardboard box. On the 8 1/2 inch side you will score a line on each end 2 1/8 inches in. Next, on the 11 inch side you will score a line on each end 2 3/4 inches in. (see diagram)
2. After you have scored each side you will cut out the four corners, previously scored, of your paper.
3. On the interior of your card you will be left with a square that measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. You will use this measurement to cut out a rectangle from one of your coordinating papers. This will serve as a border for the paper that will have the information regarding your housewarming party.
4. Print out the information for your party on your 2nd piece of coordinating paper making sure that it will fit in a rectangle measuring 5 1/4 x 4. After it has printing cut out the rectangle using this measurement. This allows you to have a 1/8” border.
5. You may now fold in the corners of your paper to give the look of a box. Using a bone folder will help to make a clean fold so that your paper will lay flat when folded.
6. On the outside of your folded card distress your edges using brown ink. In the bottom right hand corner use your moving stamp so your recipient knows what the card is going to be about.
7. You can use the back of your card to print out a map and directions to your new house. Now your friends have a moving box of their own to open!
