School Scrapbooking.

With the end of the school year and graduation parties right around the corner, today I wanted to share with you a few of the school scrapbooking products that we have in our Paper Crafts department.

If you are looking to scrapbook a specific school year, these pattern papers by Scrappin' Sports for each year are prefect! We have a sheet available for each of the grades from Preschool through Senior. The front sides have the grade as the title and border around the sheet - and the back sides have word strips that pertain to that particular grade.

If you have high school or college projects to work on we also have some great pieces specific to the local high schools and colleges in our area- including: Huskies, Gophers, Sartell, Sauk Rapids, Cathedral, Apollo, and Tech. These would not only be perfect for scrapbooking, but would also be great to use for graduation parties, photo boards, cards, or announcements.

In addition to the specific school items for graduation, we also have plenty of general graduation items to choose from too - you can find a good variety of products on a front endcap in our Paper Crafts department to get you started.

Mrs. & Mr. Letters.

Today I wanted to share a quick (and VERY cute) project that I spotted in our Floral department. Using some of our finished wood letters and rhinestone ribbon, they created this adorable display that would be perfect for any wedding. Added to a wedding arch, a head table, guest book, or cake table these decorated letters are a fun and inexpensive decoration to add to your wedding decor options.

A few other ideas in ways you could use the rhinestone letters - initials for each person in the wedding party (as a place setting and a gift), the wedding couples last name spelled out, a graduates name spelled out for a decoration at a grad party...so many ideas on where you could take this idea!!

You can find the wood letters - in this style as well as others - in aisle 17 and the rhinestone ribbon in aisle 1 of the floral department.

Redneck Drink Cup.

Today I have such a fun new product to share with you!!

You're probably already familiar with our Redneck Wineglasses and our Redneck Stemware - but now we also have a  Redneck Drink Cup!!

Take your regular Red Solo cup to the next level with these Drink Cups...the Red Cup is actually a Melamine cup (not plastic) and is adhered to a glass candle stick. Perfect for your next summer get together and a great gift idea for anyone that likes a little humor in their life!

You can find the Redneck Drink Cups, as well as individual Red Cups, on a endcap display between aisles 24 & 25 at the front of the store.

Paint Projects.

Recently one of our very talented crafters, Sarah, completed some fun projects using a few paint products from our Beads and Basics department.

To create these project she used Porcelaine 150 Paint and Paint Markers, or Vitrea 160 Paint. Each of the projects below have a link to a project sheet which will indicate which type of paint she used, as well as give you instructions on how to create the project yourself!

There are definitely a few I want to make myself too (I'm loving the Happiness Frame and the My Stache Jar cracks me up :). Which ones are your favorites?

My Mind's Eye Bag Kits.

At the end of last week I spotted these DIY Bag Kits from My Mind's Eye in our Fabrics department and couldn't wait to share them with all of you!!

They come in three different styles (Ruffle Bag, Messenger Bag, and Tote Bag) and a few different fabric colors/choices in each style.

The best part is that everything is already set for you in this kit, and from the looks of the directions would be an easy project to complete for even a novice sewer.

You can take a peak at all the bag styles available as well as read a bit more about the bags on a blog post on the My Mind's Eye blog from last week HERE.

If you've been wanting a metal stamped necklace or charm, why not pick up the supplies and make one for yourself. If you have the right supplies they are very easy to do!

Coloring with Copics.

Today I wanted to share the new cards that we will be creating in our next few sessions of our Coloring with Copics class.

This class is for anyone that has completed our Basic Copic Card class or has previous experience with Copic Markers. If you would like to sign up for this advanced class it is scheduled for Tuesday, May 22nd from 6-8pm. If you would like to make these cards but need a little practice first - then you can always sign up for our beginner class in June and then work your way into this class later this summer.

Heather has done an amazing job on these cards and they certainly would be so fun to give or receive!

You can view our entire May Class Calendar HERE and specific information on the Coloring with Copics class HERE. Please call or stop in to pre-register for any class.

New in Fabrics.

Hi Everyone!

Today I wanted to share a few of the fun new items we now have available in our Fabrics Department. We actually have so many new items - that if you haven't been in for a while you will definitely want to come in and check them out - but I will also share a few of the things that we are really excited about.

You can find lots of new patterns and kits in aisles 23 and 25 of the store.

Here are some of our favorites:

We just got a bunch of new Christmas items in - I know Christmas in May seems a bit crazy, but if you want the best selection (plus plenty of time to work on your projects) you will want to check them out soon. We have these new Christmas pillow kits:
And also some felt ornament kits:

As well as lot additional embroidery and stitchery kits (stockings, ornaments, wall hangings etc.).

We have a bunch of new cuddle fleece patterns:

In aisle 23 you will also find some new baby embroidery kits - including bibs, wall hangings and blankets:

We have a few styles available of these new bright, fun embroidery kits from Dimensions as well:

The new "Dolly Mamas" embroidery kits are very cute (and very funny!):

Rag quilts continue to be a popular item in our Fabrics Department and to accommodate the demand we have some new patterns for those types of quilts too:

We have some new doll clothes patterns:

Some really fun felt patterns for card table playhouses and puppet theaters:

We have also seen a big increase in patterns of items that correspond with the entire "Go Green" movement- including bike basket and laundry room patterns:

And finally, even though they aren't new items I also wanted to share these Project Kits that are available from our Fabric Deparmtnet. I'm not sure a lot of people know that we carry these kits - but it makes creating a project so much easier when the measuring and cutting have already been done for you. (Please note however that the fabric included in the kits may not  be available for seperate purchase and the kits are sold with the already cut for the kit.)

Mother's Day Ideas.

Mother's Day is right around the corner, so today I wanted to share some Mother's/Grandmother projects we have created recently.

A few are very specifically geared toward Mother's Day, while others are just new projects that I think any mom or grandma would love to receive as well!

First up is this Mother's Day decorated cone. Last week I shared the teacher themed cone that Katie decorated - which I loved - but this one is just as adorable. Again, I think these cones would be perfect to fill up with treats, a small gift or even a gift card (maybe to her favorite craft store ;). A project sheet for the cones can be found HERE.

Another fun gift idea is a shadow box to display a favorite photo. We have 8x8" or 12x12" sized shadow boxes in white or black, lots of different vinyl options to add to the front, and the possibilities on what you can do with the various paper and embellishment options we have available are endless!

A super easy project would also be this i *heart* you float frame (you can find a project sheet for this project HERE) :

Here is another float frame, that has been decorated with a vinyl saying, pattern paper, and a photo.
This jar vase is also a very easy project - all we did for this project was paint a large Ball jar, and then helped a child make a hand print on the front and added the ribbon. You could use this as a vase for a bouquet of flowers or to fill up with a special treat.

This project also used one of the 8x8 shadow boxes: for this project I used paper from the Echo Park This and That line. I just hand cut the tree and the hearts from the pattern paper and adhered some of them with pop-dots for added dimension.

And finally I thought I would share this wood box project that I recently completed - with just some paint, photos, paper and embellishments I turned a plain wood box into a way to display a lot of photos.
